Surgical notebooks produced while in the field in France at Base 18 during World War I, 1918; personal notebooks and field notebooks which include case histories, charts, and photographs; summaries of war injuries and surgical procedures. Manuscript of "A Clinical Study of Penetrating War Wounds of the Chest." Correspondence and notes concerning William Stewart Halsted (1852-1929), including versions of a biography of Halsted who was Chief Surgeon, Johns Hopkins University. Also, notecards concerning Halsted's bibliography and cases studied; and a biographical sketch of Heuer by Dr. Merton L. Griswold.
